Dominelli Music is so happy to be re-opening as of June 1, 2020, offering one on one lessons in our St. Albert location (10 minute drive from our North location). Why only St. Albert you ask? Well, because we have a surprise for you...
While we were closed, we converted two of our St. Albert private lesson rooms into a full recording studio - just for your physically distant private lessons between June 1-August 31. Here is how it works:
Step 1: Book your in-person private lesson time online by clicking this link. Once you have registered please build a lesson bag with your own headphones (required), your lesson book, and any other instruments or accessories you need. We provide drums, amps, piano, microphones. All singers will receive a new disposable microphone cover at each lesson. We ask that drummers bring their own sticks. All students and teachers must complete an online contract stating that you are not ill or at risk of contracting COVID-19 before entering the music school each lesson.
Step 2: On your lesson day & time, please wait in your car in the parking lot of our St. Albert location. When it is time for you to come in for your lesson, your instructor will call the phone number we have on file and let you know that we are ready for you to come in through the back entrance. Your family and your instructor will be the only people inside of our entire music school when it is your lesson time, so you will not need to worry about exposure to other students
Step 3: You will take off your shoes, and wash your hands in the bathroom before entering your lesson. Then, you will follow the signage to the second room on the right, which is a whole room, just for you. Your instructor will be in the room next door. There is a big window between the two rooms so that you can see each other. You will then plug your own headphones in to the jack, and you will be able to hear your teacher who will then give your any other set-up instructions.
Step 4: The coolest part! All teachers will be able to record their students in the lesson, and also record themselves with lesson notes or ideas, and then send them to you as an MP3. All students will be eligible to spend June-August recording their music, and we will release a digital CD at the end of the summer with all of the songs that are created. Participation in this element of summer lessons is completely optional, so have fun and enjoy your summer studio experience! If you don't want to record a song, you can simply enjoy this really fun way to experience physical distancing in a real recording studio.
Step 5: When you are done your lesson, you will leave out the back entrance and your instructor will disinfect the room, instruments, door handles, bathroom sink, and anything else that was touched in the previous lesson. They will then call their next student to come in, once you have fully left the building.
